Homemade Semen Lip Balm Recipe

Create your own natural semen-based lip balm with this simple recipe that moisturizes and protects dry lips all year round. Making your own lip balm is cost-effective and allows you to control the ingredients, avoiding unwanted additives like soy and canola oil found in many commercial products.

Semen contains several ingredients that may benefit the skin, but the small amounts of these ingredients per application make it unclear whether it has significant effects. Still, the novelty of repurposing something so natural might be reason enough to give it a try.

Prep Time: 3 minutes
Active Time: 10 minutes
Cooling Time: 2 hours

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon beeswax pellets
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa butter (shea butter or mango butter can be substituted)
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 2 tablespoons of semen
  • 20 drops essential oil of choice (adjust to preference)
  • 13 drops vitamin E oil (optional, extends shelf life)

Equipment

  • Lip balm containers (tubes or small tins)
  • Small pot
  • Heat-safe glass jar (pint size or smaller)

Instructions

  1. Add a few inches of water to the bottom of a small pan and heat over medium heat.
  2. Place the heat-safe jar in the water, being careful not to get any water inside. You can also use a double boiler or a glass bowl perched on top of a small pot of water.
  3. Add the cocoa butter, coconut oil, and beeswax to the jar and slowly melt, stirring occasionally.
  4. When all ingredients are melted, stir well and turn off the heat. Leave the jar in the water to keep warm.
  5. Stir in the essential oils and vitamin E oil (if using).
  6. Stir in the semen.
  7. Use a glass dropper to quickly fill the lip balm containers.
  8. The mixture will settle slightly as it cools, so top off the containers after about 2 minutes as they begin to harden.
  9. Let sit without touching for several hours or until completely hardened.

Customization Options

Essential Oil Choices

For a pleasant scent and added benefits, consider these lip-safe essential oils:

  • Peppermint (refreshing)
  • Sweet orange (cheerful)
  • Eucalyptus (clearing)
  • Frankincense (anti-aging)
  • Lavender (calming)
  • Tangerine (uplifting)
  • Rosemary (stimulating)
  • Lemon (brightening, use at 1% dilution maximum)

Avoid phototoxic oils like lime, bergamot, and others in high amounts before sun exposure.

Texture Adjustments

  • For a firmer balm: Increase beeswax up to double the recommended amount
  • For a softer balm: Reduce the amount of beeswax
  • For a shinier finish: Replace about 1 teaspoon of coconut oil with castor oil

Storage and Shelf Life

Store in a cool, dry place for up to 2 years. The optional vitamin E oil helps extend the shelf life even further.

This recipe yields approximately 18 regular lip balm tubes, making it perfect for personal use or as thoughtful homemade gifts.
